Africa Fashion Week hits Nigeria for the 2nd time AFWN 2015 at the Eko Hotel on the 23rd and 24th of May 2015

After annually hosting successfully AFWL the organisers of the Africa fashion week London decided to bring the African inspired Fashion event to Nigeria in 2014 and this year is the 2nd year of the fashion week in Nigeria.

Africa Fashion Week Nigeria (AFWN 2015) will showcase over 50 emerging, upcoming and young designers to a global audience of industry experts, press and media houses and the general public. The designers will present their new collections to a global audience at the Eko Hotel and suites, Victoria Island Lagos on the 23rd & 24th of August2015.

Lending their names and showcasing alongside the designers will be our veteran designers with over 20 years in the fashion industry,  Adebayo Jones,  Ade Bakare,  Zizi Cardow and Tina Lobondi.

The Fashion Scene AFWN 2015 aims is to act as a fashion scout for new creative and innovative designers in the African fashion industry.
This unique Three day event which is organized on an annual basis and will eventually be a road show across Nigeria and Africa.

The Catholic Praise Concert (CPC) is a free one-day, Gospel music concert. It debuted on the26th of April 2014, and is evolving into an annual Catholic evening of Praise music offering.

It features Holy Mass, praise, worship, dance, and special highlight performances by some of the best-known musical talents in the Gospel music genre across traditional and contemporary music culture such as hymnal,praise-worship, dance, and pop-gospel.

''Dear Country" by Ikenna Jude Okpala isa theatrical expression that captures the Nigerian story beginning from the eraof colonialism where the British government controlled and managed the entire affairs of the country to this era of neo-colonialism where, even though we are being ruled by our own colour, it is simply an advancement in slavery, corruption, "chop and clean mouth" government, poverty on the masses and so many other economic vices.

In this highly apolitical piece are highlights of so many ills plaguing the Nigerian society with a unique approach and creative fusion of drama, poetry, dance, music and media in painting clear instances of these societal vices; the issues of cultural disunity in diversity, religious disharmony and basic economic issues cannot be overemphasized in this work of art.


The play also proffers and suggests practical and workable solutions as to how our societal ills can be curbed and ameliorated for the good of every Nigerian. A new and better Nigeria is hereby campaigned for.
Also in the play is a romantic twist, which gives it a hitch of hope, a hope that can transcend through every issues.
