The Beef Far From Over? See What Olamide Did To Don Jazzy & Mavins Yesterday

Many thought the controversy was over but it might infact not exactly be over yet.

Indigenous rapper, Olamide has deleted everything that has to do with Mavin Records from his Instagram including the famous picture of himself and Don Jazzy- all smiles- a day after reconciling, following the Headies’ spat.

Two weeks ago after the supposed reconciliation between both parties, Tiwa Savage released the video of her street-esque track ‘Standing Ovation’ featuring the YBNL rapper. Olamide helped promote the song by posting pictures from the music video as well as snippets of the video on his Instagram page. However, as at the time of filing this report, the pictures no longer exist on the Bobo singer’s Instagram account.

See below, a snapshot of Baddoo’s IG account;
Meanwhile, Don Jazzy has also deleted all the pictures on his Instagram leaving out a sole photo- bearing the Mavin logo. A few days ago, Tiwa Savage’s husband, Tee Billz put up an apparent swipe on Instagram which many assumed to have been directed at the YBNL rapper over his behaviour towards his wife’s label boss, Don Jazzy, at the Headies.

 We'll keep you updated as the drama unfolds...

Khloe Kardashian’s New Photos spark Photoshop Questions

Khloe Kardashian’s fluctuating weight always seems to be an issue for her fans and social media followers. For them she either has too much curves or she’s getting too skinny.

After the reality TV star posted a couple of photos from her video shoot on Instagram, her followers immediately pointed out some of the inconsistencies they noticed in the photos (especially her legs) with a number of followers blaming it on photoshop.

Do you think her new look is as a result of photoshop or constantly hitting the gym?

#SheHiveAccra – Learn & Own the Business of Entertainment with these 5 Tips from TV Personality – Vimbai Mutinhiri!

At the recently held SheHive event by She Leads Africa in Accra, Ghana, TV Personality and former Big Brother Africa housemate, Vimbai Mutinhiri took the stage to inspire and educate women on the business of entertainment.

Having hosted a number of shows, events, garnered a career in modelling and more, her session was insightful, motivational and entertaining as she gave the women 5 keys to success in the entertainment industry.

Vimbai delivered her address in a pretty monochrome dress by fast-rising Nigerian designer, Imad Eduso. She spoke on her journey, from being a model to running a production business with a multi-million dollar revenue.

According to Vimbai, the keys to entertainment success are;

Step 1
Work on yourself, build your talent and hone your skills.

Step 2

Learn from those before you, and use them as a case study of the strategies that work.

Step 3
Learn a skill that compliments your talent. If you are on TV, learn to also edit or use a camera.

Step 4
The person who owns the content holds the power. Make sure you own everything you create.

Step 5

Own your means of production – so if you are an artist, then aspire to build a studio. If you are an actress, have cameras and lights.

I Am Not Bothered That I Have Been Replaced In The Music Industry – Tiwa Savage

Mavin first lady, Tiwa Savage, has made a comeback to the music industry, following her one year leave to have and cater for her son, Jamil.

The singer, recently sat down for an interview with TVCconnect where she talked about a lot of things to include her son and career.

When asked about how she felt when it became clear she had been replaced as the queen bee in the music industry while on maternity leave, she replied:
''I don’t think I was really bothered. I know how entertainment is and sometimes you need that kind of news so I didn’t take it personally and I wasn’t really moved by it because when you’re having a baby that’s one of the biggest joys that you can ever ever imagine.''
Tiwa, also talked about her comeback, stating her number one priority.
My priority was just to make sure that I was healthy and that my baby was healthy and that we had a safe delivery. So at that time I was taking time away from music and I knew I had to take time off but my focus was really my baby…and I had worked while I was pregnant. I had recorded my album so I also knew that I had something when I was going to come back and I was going straight back into work. I also believed in the grace of God over my life and I guess that helped me.
Tiwa Savage, recently dropped her album titled R.E.D.

The British Council in Partnership with FirstBank Announces Lagos Theatre Festival 2016

The Lagos Theatre Festival, which first launched in 2012, was born out of the need to create professional exchange opportunities between the Nigerian and British theatre makers, stimulating innovation in theatre practice and changing the face of performing arts in Nigeria.

FirstBank of Nigeria is extremely passionate about the arts and is partnering with the British Council through its strategic initiative – First@arts to bring you Lagos Theatre Festival 2016, the largest outdoor theatre event in Nigeria which is scheduled to take place over six days from February 23rd – 28th.

In preparation for the UK/Nigeria 2016-16 season of Arts, the British council in its desire to engage new voices in theatre, called for the submission of scripts from emerging playwrights. The themes of the scripts were drawn from experiences of young people living in Lagos today. A record number of 64 applications were received over a four week period and four plays were shortlisted by a panel of writers for a creative writing workshop and script development.

The plays are: Every Single Day by Olubunmi Familoni, The Wait by Bode Asiyanbi, Barcode Dialogue by Atinuke Aweda and Dialing Love by Paul Ugbede. The winning playwrights have been awarded a cash prize of N100,000 each and will have their plays produced at the Lagos Theatre Festival 2016.

The Lagos Theatre Festival 2016 will take place at several venues on Lagos Island and the mainland with the curated programme running alongside a fringe strand of affiliated performances allowing a greater than ever number of artists and audiences to take part. Tickets are available from February 1 at Naija ticket shop, Dealdey.com and TerraKulture.
