Governor Wike announced the confirmation of the appointment of the Acting Rector of the Polytechnic, Bori, Dr Oneniye -Ofori Georgewill as the Rector of Kenule Beeson Saro-Wiwa Polytechnic (Kenpoly) Bori on Wednesday at the school's convention arena following the overwhelming request of the students through their leadership, this confirmation has the full endorsement of the Governing Council of the institution led by Chf (Barr) Adokiye Amiesimaka.

Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Ezenwo Wike stated that his administration will work towards the accreditation of all the academic programmes of the Kenule Beeson Saro-Wiwa Polytechnic, Bori.
He also stated that the state government will start with the upgrade of the school's workshops and laboratories, promising to transform the Polytechnic to a world-class status

Addressing thousands of the Students of the Kenule Beeson Saro-Wiwa Polytechnic, Bori on Wednesday at the school's auditorium, Governor Wike stated that upon the improvement of the state's internally generated revenue, his administration will establish a polytechnic in each senatorial district to create more access to quality education.

He also said that his administration will complete the rehabilitation of the Birabi Memorial Grammar School, Bori and dualise the Sakpwenwa-Bori road for the good of the Ogoni ethnic nationality.

The governor explained that the establishment of the Port Harcourt Polytechnic was not an attempt to kill the Kenule Beeson Saro-Wiwa Polytechnic as being peddled by political opponents. He said he is interested in the development of Ogoni and other parts of the Rivers State.

In his remarks, Chairman of the Governing Council of the Kenule Beeson Saro-Wiwa Polytechnic, Chief Adokiye Amaesimaka commended the governor for his investments in the development of the institution.

Also speaking, President of the Students Union Government of the institution, Comrade Peter Dunobari commended the governor for setting up a credible governing council and management that have improved basic amenities in the state institution.

Dancehall artistes, Timaya, took to social media some hours ago to unveil his new manager.

The ‘Egebri Papa 1 of Bayelsa’, has unveiled famed artiste manager, Osagie Osanrekhoe , as his new manager.

He wrote:

"Meet my new manager….OSAGIE OKUNKPOLOR. Welcome to DM records"

Recall, Osagie, some weeks back was involved in a legal battle with Baseline Records, home to singer Skales. She was accused of defrauding the label of several millions of Naira alongside Skales, whom she managed during that period.

Osagie, before now, managed the likes of Wizkid, Reekado Banks and Dammy Krane.

Adekunle Gold the ‘Ready’ crooner has finally revealed when he will be releasing his debut album.

Adekunle, has announced that his highly anticipated album, The Gold Season, will be released on July 28, 2016.

Speaking on the album during an interview, he explained that:

"In the Gold album, I bare my soul to the world. I want people to experience what I felt while creating the album. Also, I hope that in the coming years, my music will still sound as fresh as they did the day they were released."

Adekunle Gold, who won the Best Alternative Song at this year’s Headies award, revealed earlier in the year that the likes of E.Banks, Seyi Keys, Oscars, are amongst the producers to work on his album.

New mom, Tonto Dikeh, and singer, Jaywon, are set to drop a new song any day now.

Jaywon, shared a photo of the both of them in a music studio captioning it:

Tonto, re-posted same photo and captioned it:

Tonto, was formerly signed to D’banj’s record label, DB Record,before leaving a couple of months ago.

‘Kukuere’ singer, Iyanya, had everyone wondering what must have gone wrong with his relationship with business partner/manager, Ubi Franklin, for him to have announced his depart from Triple MG, a label which they both co-own.

According to Pulse, the business partners have been having several issues ranging from finances, booking and appearance fees, to include taking some crucial decisions on the artistes the label houses and the label itself. Iyanya, was reprotedly not okay with how Ubi Franklin, was handling the finances of the label.

Iyanya, was also said to be very upset over the exoit of two of the label’s artistes in the person of Emma Nyra and Baci, with Baci’s exit being more painful as he has been friends with Iyanya for several years.

During his major announcement on Instagram, Iyanya, also revealed that he will be dropping anew album very soon, an album management of the label is said to have been handed over to a guy named Paul has also been put in charged of the booking, performance and appearance fees.

Neither Iyanya nor Ubi Franklin, has given their side of the story yet, as the two are said to eb outside the country at the moment.

Singer, Brymo, for the second time this year, is again trending on twitter.

This time, Brymo, took to social media to air his views about the ‘Suffering and smiling’ nature of all blackj men around the globe, a tweet that did not go down well with most of his fans, as hundreds came out in mass to blast the ‘Happy Memories’ crooner.

During the twitter war, a user on advised Brymo to caution his tweets as it could bring a dark cloud over his career.

Here the veteran singer, Sound Sultan, recently granted an interview to Naij.com, where he talked about the Nigerian music industry.

According to Sound Sultan, the Nigerian music scene at the moment is one dimensional.

In his words:

"Most of the artistes I’m grooming now, I don’t want to start making noise about them instead, let your work speak for you because that is what I usually tell people. It is very delicate for the interviewer to say ‘ha I don’t know when I said so, so and so’. You have to go sieve information because if you have your DJ playing 120 songs per minute, you will never hear my music, that’s what I will say. You need to on your own make researches and for I cannot overstretch the emphasis on the fact that you already know that music is one dimensional in Nigeria right now."

Sony music act/DMW boss, Davido, is reportedly set to terminate his Sony Deal, any day now.
According to the source, entertainment blog, ‘TaleTV’, the ‘Aye’ crooner is really angry with the management of the label as they have not only delayed the release of his album, but have also not paved the way into the American music market as promised.

Taletv, revealed this by putting up a photo of Davido and writing:

#Davido is furious with #SonyMusic: According to his PR, they are not only delaying his album release but also, he feels like they are not doing much to help him migrate to the American music scene since the #FaderCover he emerged few months ago.. He’s threatening to leave if he doesn’t see results by the end of the year :evil::evil: #taletv

Davido, also shared a screenshot of the blog’s post on his page but deleted minutes later.

‘Osinachi‘ crooner, Humble Smith, has landed his first major endorsement deal.

Yesterday,he signed a multi-million Naira deal with popular noddles company, Tummy-Tummy in Lagos, officialy unveiling as a brand ambassador.

The general Manager, Tummy-Tummy Foods Industry, Mr Chijioke Anumoka revealed why the artiste was chosen as its brand ambassador.

According to him:

"We decided to sign Humble Smith as our brand ambassador because Humble Smith best represent and understand what the Tummy-Tummy brand stands for, he has the qualities, capacity and potential to take the Tummy-Tummy brand to the next level."

Humble Smith also spoke about his new deal saying:

Humblesmith the ‘Osinachi’ crooner in a recent interview, revealed a few things about himself and his journey so far in the music industry.

During his interview with Showtime Celebrity, the fast rising act talked about his upbringing amongst other topics.

On how he started in the music industry, Humblesmith said:

"I was born and brought up in Ebonyi State. Music started for me when I was a kid, it actually runs in the family. My mother is a good singer; she is a chorister in the church, most times she sang at home, likewise other members of my family. Everything my mom does goes with music, at times, if she wants to talk to you she talks with music. All these and more got me inspired."

He further talked about how he has managed to survive in the very competitive industry;

"I hustled seriously on the streets to survive; it got to a point that I opened a video rental shop in Asaba. I stole and sold my mom’s gold to pay for my first studio session, but I later confessed and apologized to her, promising to buy her more than what I stole in the nearest future."

Humblesmith became a household name with the release of his hit track, ‘Osinachi‘. He garnered even more fame when the release featuring Sony Music act, Davido, was released.
