A 5th year memorial concert will be held in honor of late rapper, Dagrin – real name, Olaitan Olanipekun who died on April 22, 2010, eight days after crashing his car in front of Alakara Police Station, Mushin, Lagos.

To be headlined by rappers Olamide andReminisce, the concert, which is set to hold on April 22 at Spice Route, Victoria Island, Lagos, will also feature Seriki, Lord of Ajasa, YQ, Sossick,WondaBoy, BaseOne, JahBless, PoslyTD, Chinko Ekun and CDQ.

The memorial concert is being organised by Eldar Records, a label which is home to the late rapper’s cousin, Arewa Oluwatosin Olanipekun a.k.a Tee Blaq.

Eldar Records CEO, Taofeek Olokodana, said there was no better way to mark the 5th year anniversary of Dagrin’s death than with a concert.

“We are hoping to see beyond death and pain while we celebrate his legacy, his evergreen music and gain in artistes he has influenced, includingTee Blaq who grew up with him,” Mr. Olokodana said.

The talented Reggae/Dance-Hall act took to Social Media to make the announcement moments ago and made the bold veclaim of being the first contemporary Nigerian act to OFFICIALLY sign a deal with the power brand.

The former Aristokrat Records front-runner had been independent since he parted ways with the label sometime last year. This is surely a step in the right direction for an artiste who’s possibly one of the most underrated names in the game. He should be clearing out all the major awards yearly.

Exactly 3 years ago, on Wednesday March 30, 2012, Jesse Garba Abaga simply known as Jesse Jagz voluntarily quit his relationship with Chocolate City at the expiration of his 2-year deal.

3 years and 4 albums after, the talented rapper, singer and producer is making his way back to the record label and this is authoritative.

Recall that Chocolate City boss, Audu Maikori while announcing plans for the 10th anniversary of the label, hinted that a re-union of sorts was in the works. NET can now confirm to you that it’s a done deal and an official announcement by the label will be made soon.

Jesse Jagz further confirmed his return to Chocolate City by sharing pictures of himself, M.I Abaga, Audu Maikori and Loose Kaynon from a business meeting in Lagos today.

Good News for the fans of Choc Boyz “Jesse Jagz “Returns . There have been speculations about a possible return for Jesse Jagz to Chocolate City and CEO of the label Audu Maikori also hinted on a possible return some weeks ago.

After a break up almost 3 years ago and 2 solo albums ( Jagz Nation, Vol.1. Thy Nation Come, Jagz Nation Vol. 2: Royal Niger Company) he finally returns to his parent record label, his brother MI Abaga confirmed this some minutes ago on his instagram page .

It would be recalled that Oritsefemi Majemite and  Dapo ‘D’Banj’ Oyebanjo entertained President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan in Lagosat the National Stadium, Surulere on Tuesday 24th March 2015. The duo performed great songs to entertain the crowd closed to twenty thousand cheering and dancing to D’Banj and Oritsefemi songs.

Musical Taliban, Oritsefemi performed Great Politician, the song composed for the President. He also dazzled with Igbeyawo, his hit song that is trending at the moment in the country.
Meanwhile, D’Banj performed Eyi Boys , Top of the World, and Olorun Maje. The songs made audience asking for more but the time given to the artistes was limited due to President Goodluck Jonathan time to give speech to the audience. They also launched a movement called Nigerian Youth Positive Driven (NYPD). The aim is to create jobs for unemployed Nigeria youths and targeting the positive involvement of youths in governance.
Oritsefemi and Dbanj called on youth to channel their desires and power into making themselves become an agent of positive movement. He advised that youth should desist from making themselves to be used as agents of destruction at the coming elections.
