NIGERIA LETS CHOOSE A FUTURE.- By John Okafor C

GEJ have signed trade agreements that are helping our companies sell more goods to millions of new customers, goods that are stamped with three proud words: “Made in Nigeria”. After 50 years of decline, GEJ created over half a million manufacturing jobs in the last four and a half years and he is now helping big factories and small businesses double their exports to create a million new manufacturing jobs in the next four years

Now we have a choice, between a strategy that reverses this progress, or one that builds on it. GEJ have opened millions of new opportunities in Agriculture in the last four years, and he will open more.

GEJ is offering a better path, a future where we keep investing in Agriculture and other mineral resources; where youth can own small-holder farms, grow and hire farmworkers, where construction workers build homes and factories that waste less energy; where we develop a hundred year supply of natural gas that’s right beneath our feet. If we choose this path, we can cut our oil imports in half by 2020 and support more than 600,000 new jobs in natural gas alone.

GEJ chose a future where more Nigerians have the chance to gain the skills they need to compete, no matter how much money they have. Education was the gateway to opportunity for GEJ. It can be the gateway for GMB. And now more than ever, it is the gateway to almajiris.

GEJ built Almajiri School because he believes no child should have their dreams deferred because parents cannot afford it. He built 12 Federal universities so that no family should have to set aside a college acceptance letter because they don’t have the money. He established SURE-P vocational training so that no company should have to look for workers in China because they couldn’t find any with the right skills here at home.

In a country like Nigeria with new threats and new challenges, we must choose leadership that has been tested and proven. Four years ago, GEJ promised to end the corruption in Fertilizer distribution. He did. He promised to revive the railway system. He has. He promised to improve women development and participation in governance. He has. He promised to organize a National Conference. He did. He promised to improve youth development. He has. He has blunted the Bokoharam’s momentum in North-East, and by the end of 2015, our longest war will be over.

We can meet that goal together. We can choose that future for Nigeria. We can choose GEJ
