Despite the hot temperature and a forecast of rain, the Lagos crowd,
more than 100,000 people, predominantly women and youth began lining up
in the Teslim Balogun Stadium, more than two hours before the rally.
Some had taken the day off work just for President Jonathan.
It was an astonishing turnout, tens of thousands of people on every street of Lagos stood up for Jonathan in one of the biggest campaigns. Its very remarkable because it was in the heart of Lagos, a state that had until a few months ago been regarded as safely APC.
There was a festive atmosphere at the rally, partly because it was held in fairground and streets of Lagos but mainly because the crowd was in the mood to celebrate what they expect to be a Jonathan victory on the 28th March. There is a strong sense of anticipation. It feels like Christmas Eve, one emotional supporter said.
The Road show was awesome, beautiful colours of PDP matching with the green and white colour of TAN flying all over the streets of Lagos in the longest and best campaign convoy since the history of election campaign in Nigeria.
The roadshow was simply a celebration of Jonathan on the streets of Lagos which makes me to wonder where the 23% of Lagos voters who support APC actually stay because all along the streets we see and hear cheers and smiles of Jonathan and PDP supporters, chanting and dancing for President Jonathan.
It was indeed a celebration of a victory to come. You can call it a #Jonabration.
Lagos has said its Jonathan on the 28th. Let’s join Lagos and re-elect GEJ.
